I WAS THINKING...

A few hrs back I received a text message from my friend that has got my mind ticking that what would happen if one day gods forbid we all lose touch with each other!!!! The message said:

One fine day all of us will get busy with our lives,
long working hrs, no more classes, lectures, friends &
messages, won’t have time for ourselves, at such a day you’ll
look outside your window & see the good old memories flash
you by & you’ll get a smile with a tear in your eyes & you’ll
turn back to your work thinking I wish I could go back."

When I received this message..I stopped for a moment & immediately replied to my friend that such a thing would never happen & I shall never get so involved in my work that I end up losing the best of my buddies. She replied..“hope so”. Her reply made me realize that how some people who were once not even known to you become such indispensable for you & become such integral part of your lives that you dread the sheer thought of losing them. Though such deep thinking is very unlike me but at times it only helps you realize that you are incomplete without friends. The word ‘FRIENDS’ is more than just a word to me, it is a feeling, it is a relationship, it is the little joys & sorrows of my life, it is my best teacher & it is the hope that makes me look forward to each coming day. Mine might not be the case of a quintessential friendship but still...over several years of my life there have been quite a few moments when I have just stopped & wondered that how lucky I am to be able to call some people my true FRIENDS. I have often heard people say that love is the most special & divine feeling one can ever experience, I will not say they are wrong(because I don’t have any idea about love) but I would certainly say that if you are lucky enough to experience true friendship..you needn’t experience anything else as friendship in itself is the most wholesome emotion one can ever experience.

LEGACY OF AN ADOPTED CHILD

Once there were two women who never knew each other.
One you do not remember, the other you call Mother.
Two different lives shaped to make you one.
One became your guiding star. The other became your sun.
The first one gave you life, & the second taught you to live it.
The first gave you a need for love, the second was there to give it.
One gave you nationality, the other gave you name.
One gave you a talent, the other gave you aim.
One gave you emotions, the other calmed your fears.
One saw your first sweet smile, the other dried your tears.
One sought you a home that she could not provide,
the other prayed for a child & her hope was not denied.
And now you ask me through your tears,
the age-old questions unanswered through the years.
Heredity or environment. Which are you a product of?
Niether my darling. Niether. Just two different kinds of love.
